Hi,
my name is René Burton. Welcome to my program It's Never Too Late®. My mission is
to change perceptions about aging in America.
Early in my career I studied at the Martha Graham Dance Studio and the New Dance
Group studio in New York City. Realizing that there was a need for a fitness
program for people 55+, I used my knowledge and my 25+ years of teaching
experience to develop this comprehensive program specially aimed at senior
fitness, designed so that students can reach their potential regardless of age
or infirmity. Fifteen of these years have been devoted to working with and
teaching seniors.
I am a credentialed Adaptive Physical Education teacher for Adult Education:
Physical Fitness and Conditioning, and have studied Exercise Physiology at California State University, Fullerton. I am Adjunct Faculty at Irvine Valley
College in the Emeritus-sponsored programs at Irvine Valley College, Coastline
Community College, and the Huntington Beach Adult School.
I am a Nationally Certified Trainer for the Arthritis Foundation, and am credentialed to teach fitness instructors and fitness classes for people with Arthritis.
In 2003 I was appointed as a Fifty-Plus Lifelong Fitness Ambassador. This
program began as a study group for research at Stanford University to promote
physical activity for older adults.
In March of 2004, I was a contestant in the Ms. Senior America Pageant, and
placed first runner-up in the preliminary pageant.
I have given lectures and workshops at Foundation Regional Hospital/Medical
Center, and at Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Anaheim.
My
fitness classes in Orange County, Southern California are very popular
and are always filled to capacity. Due to the demand I decided to offer
this video series to the public so that more people can live the It's
Never Too Late® lifestyle.
I am also available for speaking engagements. Please contact me at info@never2latefitness.com for details.
